We met our estate agent at 10:15 and we've just gotten back this second at 4:45! What a day! We probably saw about 15 places all over the Fulham Broadway, Parson's Green, and Earl's Court areas. We saw a couple that we liked. One was really nice, it had granite counter tops and a really nice yard off the back. Unfortunately though, it's not available until September 13. I'm not sure I can hang in the Cloisters that long! One other that we saw was what the agent called "traditional". Think of the oldest English movie you can think of and that was this place. Seriously, it was nice, but the kitchen was literally a closet. You literally opened 2 double doors and there it was. Mike and I couldn't even both stand in it at the same time. It had great stained glass windows, high ceilings, and great woodworking, but the kitchen was just a dealbreaker!
The housing market is crazy here though. While we were out and about we lost 3 of the places we were supposed to look at, before we'd even seen them!
Tomorrow we're looking in Kensington and Notting Hill. From what we understand we won't get as much for the money over there, but it's a more "desireable" area to live in--more centrally located.
Tonight we're going for drinks w/ some people from PwC. Sorry for the boring post, I'm just so exhausted...we haven't been sleeping well here! Our apartment is just very loud. The Lamborghinis and Ferraris that drive by at 1am are just really loud!!!
